This former fortress is situated on an extinct volcanic cone in the middle of the Winkler-Hermaden vineyard.
A place for the senses, the eyes, the palate and the nose. Easy-creative-Styria is the motto of Kapfensteiner Schlossküche. Each day we offer a 4- to 6 dish gourmet menu which suits to the season and the current offer of the region. With feeling and knowledge of the dishes are accompanied by the finest wines from the family's own vineyard.
The thick walls of Kapfenstein Castle house a gourmet restaurant and a small comfortable family-style hotel with overwhelming views directly from the "Kapfensteiner Kogel". 16 individually designed rooms featuring antique furniture, yet all the modern comforts. The creative castle kitchen treats you to speciality dishes and wines from the family vineyards.
