Sankt Georgen is one of the attractions of the Murtal region and offers a unique experience in the Fairytale Forest. Romanesque-style church

A true cultural treasure is the church in Sankt Georgen. It was built in the 13th century in Romanesque style and extended in the 15th century with a Gothic-style apse and sacristy. The Romanesque tower, which is recognisable from afar with its Baroque onion dome, is a distinctive feature. The murals here are striking and were the basis for the foundation of the George Archives. This is a centre for cultural and scientific exchange. Here you will find impressive finds from the Stone, Celtic and Roman periods - all in all, a fairytale treasure!
