...relax close to the forest & sustainably at 1,100 m above sea level.
Our Waldspiel log cabin was built in 2022 and is located directly on the edge of the forest at 1,100 m above sea level in the north of the Eastern Styria region. Until recently, we ran a dairy cow farm here. Now our entire passion is renting out our log cabin and managing the surrounding meadows and forest. We would like to give you the opportunity to explore our natural jewel.
With a bit of luck, you will have the opportunity to watch squirrels and deer feeding as soon as you get up. Afterwards we recommend you to explore the wonderful Eastern Styria on foot or by mountain bike. Directly from the holiday home you can pick mushrooms and berries in the nearby forest. On hot summer days, the Albertsee lake in the village invites you to cool off.
In winter, cross-country skiing enthusiasts can do their rounds in the St. Jakob im Walde cross-country skiing centre and touring ski fanatics or snowshoe lovers we recommend a hike to the Pretul. The skiing areas Hauereck, Stuhleck, Wenigzell as well as St. Jakob im Walde are also in the immediate vicinity. Of course, you can enjoy the snow-covered landscape in peace from the log cabin.
Spending your days off in nature - feels like a sustainable holiday, doesn't it? Here we can add that we have been producing 100% of our own electricity for several years now via our own hydroelectric power station. The drinking water in the log cabin comes from our own spring and is checked annually. In addition, wood from the region was used for the construction of the log house.
Escape from everyday life and come and relax in nature with us. Due to the proximity to the forest, you can really switch off on the terrace and recharge your batteries. We look forward to seeing you, because you can only relax close to the forest and sustainably at 1,100 m above sea level with us.
INFORMATION: Wien Energie is currently building a photovoltaic system and so it may happen that there may be increased construction activity on the farm grounds between June and November 2023.
