Surrounded by meadows, a little stream and woods, our Ferienhaus REKREATION with its three exceptionally designed apartments stands with an unobstructed, sinking view. Thanks to a sustainable and needs-oriented concept, they can be combined to form a sophisticated vacation home in which all facets of recreation can be experienced and discovered in a flexible and original way.
Reclaimed, re- & upcycled, rescued & leftover items result as an architectural and design concept in a recreated place with personality and many stories, where diverse, recreating & revitalizing leisure needs are fulfilled at the same time. The building is part of an old farmyard area, isolated from any neighborhood and offers undisturbed privacy. The living areas and terraces are all oriented towards the meadow landscape - the panorama with the pilgrimage church of Pöllauberg, idyllic sunsets and the occasional change of game make the view particularly impressive.
The three vacation apartments can be rented separately, are soundproofed and have their own entrances. Their terraces at the rear of the house are structurally arranged in such a way that they are protected from each other, but without restricting their own view. They are intended to be a place for private use to experience peace, relaxation and seclusion. At the front of the house, an outdoor area with a playground, fire pit, circus wagon and, in summer, a pool offer a place for community if desired.
The hilly area is particularly suitable for gentle hiking or cycling. The Naturpark Pöllauer Tal with its idyllic paths is in the immediate vicinity. The Thermenland, Lake Stubenberg, Herberstein Zoo, Riegersburg Castle and much more are all within easy reach.

THE KOCH FAMILY
The history of the family's hereditary farm can be traced back to 1478. Over the generations, the concepts of agriculture and forestry have continued to evolve.
Most recently, Siegfried and Veronika Koch successfully marketed their farm products under the name 'Koch in der Au'. Now retired, they still sell pumpkin seed oil from their own production.
Together with their daughter Katharina, the idea was born to recreate: to convert one of the now unused farm buildings into a unique vacation home, to run the farm and the beautiful land in a new way and to offer it to as many people as possible for their own recreation.
All family members contributed to the development and realization of the vacation home and were able to shine with their strengths.
We hope that the original concept, the attention to detail and the attentive hospitality will be discovered in all corners of the house and result in a unique recreational experience for our guests.

Arrival
Check-In:
After providing the required information for the self-check-in, the code for the key box will be sent. The key box is located directly next to the entrance door of the apartment (apartments are labeled). Usually, we value the privacy of our guests. If a personal welcome is desired, this is possible in most cases. Please just let us know - we look forward to getting to know you!
How to get here:
From the highway:
A2/E59 to the Hartberg exit (approx. 80 min from Vienna, approx. 45 min from Graz). Take the B50 towards Hartberg and at the traffic circle continue on the B54 towards Graz. In Schildbach at the traffic circle take the L406 towards Pöllau (approx. 10 min). Follow the signs to Hotel Grüne Au and turn right into the hotel driveway. Just before the hotel, turn right again and take the path through the forest, cross the bridge and voilá!
Public transportation:
ÖBB to Hartberg train station coming from Vienna (approx. 130 min) or bus 311 (approx. 90 min). Bus X31 coming from Graz (approx. 90 min). Continue with bus 342 in the direction of Pöllau - get off at 'Winzendorf Kothgasser' (approx. 10 min). Follow the signs to Hotel Grüne Au on foot, turn right into the forest path on the access road to the hotel, cross the bridge and voilá! + (approx. 10 min walk)
