Brass Music Museum:
The museum's permanent exhibition presents woodwind, brass and percussion instruments, musicians' clothing and numerous other objects since the 19th century relating to the history of wind music in Austria. These include various drum carriages, conductor's batons, development of music printing, original scores and sheet music. An audio-visual show provides an overview of the history "From classical harmony music to wind music of the present. the digital image documentation "Wind Bands and Wind Orchestras of Austria" lets the more than 2100 sounding bodies pass before you.

Museum of local history:
Special "delicacies" in the local history museum are the fully equipped cobbler's workshop, the weaving mill, the farmer's parlor and the Rauchkuchl in the town tower. The 3,300-year-old octagonal sword from the Urnfield period, other finds from the Hallstatt period and a rich collection of various exhibits are silent witnesses to the long and interesting history of settlement. In the medieval Schötteltor complex of the culture house, the excellently designed museum of local history is located on an area of about 250m². It brings to life the history of the former possessions of the Freising monastery and Rothenfels Castle.
A tour of the local history museum gives visitors an impression of the life and work of earlier generations.

Fire Brigade Museum:
This museum is a documentation of 150 years of fire department history in Oberwölz. Oberwölzer Florianis, above all Walter Hauck and Armin Wallner, have invested about 400 hours in this museum. Hauck has been a member of the fire department for 70 years. Wallner is in charge of the museum; he has been a member of the fire department for four decades. The two are proud that all exhibits are the property of the Oberwölz fire department.

A special specimen is a mobile, free-standing ladder where once not everyone was allowed to climb on. This was reserved for the "Obersteigern" and "Steigern", knows Hauck. His first major assignment was a fire at the main school in winter.
When coupling, one had to pour hot water on it, in order to be able to connect the hoses. A water pump from the war time without motor support had to be operated by eight men in order to be able to extinguish. During the war, women were often called upon. They would have passed buckets in a "water chain" up to the pump, there men were then in use, so the narrative. The museum is co-maintained with the museum of local history and wind music by the municipality, tel. (03581) 8203 or by e-mail to the address gde@oberwoelz.gv.at.
