Every Monday during the summer vacations there is a guided walk through the arboretum (tree garden) at 13:00. There you can learn a lot about different trees and shrubs. Registration until 12.00 at the ticket office of the Wood Museum. Cost: with a valid entrance ticket the walk is free, otherwise € 4,00.- per person.
Since 1988, the Wood Museum has stood in the middle of the Murau wood district in St. Ruprecht ob Murau. A special place to learn everything about the fascinating raw material wood on more than 10,000 m² indoors and outdoors. The fact that a museum has to be anything but "bland" becomes clear in this real wood experience!
The Wood Museum is also a destination for excursions in any weather; you can spend the whole day in the museum and the surrounding grounds, whether exploring the museum, social activities such as bowling, nailing, walking on stilts; or simply wandering through the arboretum, where numerous different species of trees and shrubs, many wild herbs, the barefoot path and the shelter hut await the visitor. Of course, the lovingly designed wooden water playground scores points with families.
Audio guides in German, English, Hungarian and Italian. Our guests can charge their e-bike or e-car for free at our charging station during their visit.
