Organ tour of the Vonbank organ in the Capuchin church in Murau

As part of the Murau Organ Week, there will be an organ tour in the Capuchin Church in Murau with a general introduction to the construction and playing style of the instrument as well as information on specific details of the organ built by OBM Walter Vonbank. Registrations required by 11.08.2024 due to very limited space in the organ loft under ad.artem.musicae@gmail.com.

Welcome to the Murau Organ Week 2024!
Once again this year, the Murau Organ Week welcomes you with a varied program. The program ranges from the Middle Ages to the present day, from portatives to modern organs. This also includes the innovations in the program: For the first time, a portative as well as lute and theorbo are represented in the program as chamber music partner instruments of the organ.

With the Annakirche and St. Leonhard Church in Murau, there are also two new attractive venues. St. Leonhard is home to one of the oldest organs in Styria, which will be made available to interested organists after its presentation - only with timely binding registration, see program! - will be made available for performance.

Four concerts, an organ mass, a workshop lecture on jazz and popular music and three organ tours await you this week, offering you exclusive insights into the fascinating organ landscape of the town and region of Murau.

Manfred Novak, artistic director of the Murau Organ Week, looks forward to welcoming you to these special sound spaces!

Please note: All events are free of charge. We kindly ask you to make an appropriate donation to cover the remaining costs of the series.
