I am a Murtalerin - Zirben Costume

The Zirbenland dirndl is a precious unique Murtaler. Made of 2 metres of purest wild silk, it captivates with its deep red noble appearance. The apron reflects the Zirbe. The red-green brocade with ribbons of wild silk completes the appearance of the Dirndl from the fashionhouse Neuböck in Obdach. The Dirndl is meant to reflect the nature of the Zirbenland in the Murtal. The strong red shimmers in the sun and the apron is decorated with small pine cones. Details and special features distinguish the Zirbenland Dirndl. For example, the ends of the apron ribbons are decorated with pine cones made of small sparkling Swarovski crystals. The décolleté is also striking, adorned with a heart ruffle border - heartbeat all along the line. Since this year, the dirndl is accompanied by a lace blouse with sleeves. Previously it was a sleeveless lace blouse.

In 2022, the designer costume won out over two other models in the public voting and has proudly accompanied the Zirbenhoheiten at a wide variety of events such as the Bauernbundball, the Styrian Spring, the Narcissus Festival, the Formula 1 and many more since that time.

Proud and full of anticipation for the upcoming Zirbenfest, the Zirbenland Dirndl answered our questions.

Erlebnisregion Murtal: "What connects you with the Murtal?"

Zirbenland-Dirndl: "The legendary nature of the Zirbenland, because that is what I embody. My intense red and especially the deep green in my apron characterise me, I have that in common with the natural wonder of the stone pine. Attentive to detail, unique and full of secrets - that's me."

Erlebnisregion Murtal: "When do you feel the heartbeat in the Murtal?"

Zirbenland-Dirndl: "When I am on tour with the Zirbenhoheiten, that is so exciting. Many people look at me and marvel at me. I can keep up with the costumes of the other sovereigns, and that makes me proud. And when I have a lot of fun at the many events and get to present my homeland, my Dirndl heart starts beating!

Erlebnisregion Murtal: "Where is your favourite place in the Murtal?"

Zirbenland-Dirndl: "The market square in Obdach. There I am directly in front of my parents' house, the Neuböck fashion house. I really like the cordiality, contentment and above all the down-to-earthness of the people of Obdach."
