I am a Murtaler - Farrach Castle

Farrach Castle was built between 1670 and 1680 by Baron Carl Friedrich von Teuffenbach. The striking facade is in the Italian Renaissance style. The mosaics were created from fragments of bricks. In the 17th century, the castle was considered to be one of the most modern of its kind. The house was lovingly reconstructed in 1989 by experts from the Federal Monuments Office and since then the building has been unique in Austria.

Today, the castle spoils guests all along the line. The 3-toque chef's kitchen uses high-quality products from its own farm and from the region. In an elegant atmosphere and atmospheric flair, guests can enjoy the sweet life to the full.

Opening hours:
Wednesday to Saturday: 11:00 to 14:30 and 17:30 to 23:00
Sundays & public holidays: 11:30 to 17:00

The castle is a constant source of cultural inspiration. Exhibitions by renowned artists inspire visitors. At Easter and Christmas, the castle attracts hundreds of visitors with its market and arts and crafts. 

From 7th to 10th December from 10 am to 6 pm, the Farrach Advent opens its doors again. Marvel at the arts and crafts, listen to contemplative music, enjoy chestnuts and warm up with hot mulled wine and punch. Here you can certainly lend a helping hand to the Christ Child and pick up a gift or two.
