I am a Murtaler - Herbalist

Silent, green and wonderfully fragrant, the Herbalist sunbathes in the small village of Großlobming during our visit. This mighty Murtaler seems tob e slowed down and very much at his centre. No wonder; this men is full of nature wonders. We were amazed about his power and discovered that there is a remedy for every little ailment.

In 2016, the Herbalist was born in the Herbal Competence Centre in the tranquil Lobmingtal. Although he seems to be quite young at school age, he already measures a respectable 40 metres in length. As a pupil at the Großlobming technical school, he stands out as a true model pupil, sometimes very homely, but already imparting enormous knowledge about herbs and medicinal plants. Among his fellow pupils he stands out as extremely helpful and thus very popular. He has a remedy for every emergency. Of course, his classmates appreciate this very much.

11 different herbaceous borders form the Herbalist. They are planted with 230 different herbs and grow exactly in the region of the Herbalist's body, where they unfold their healing powers most effectively.

 

"An herb for all occasions" is the Herbalist's motto in life. On guided tours and in practical workshops and lectures, visitors learn more about the mysterious power of nature from experienced herb educators.

The Herbalist can be admired particularly well from the observation tower, which is located right next to his head. Although he seems quiet and shy, he naturally enjoys it very much, when guests admire and marvel at him. The show garden, which is unique in Austria, enjoys increasing popularity every year.

Erlebnisregion Murtal: "Herbalist, what connects you to the Murtal?"
Herbalist: "Just like the Murtal, I also live between deceleration and acceleration. There are herbs that make you fit and active, but also plants that calm and relax. That's exactly how I am - a complete package in a special class."

 

Erlebnisregion Murtal: "When do you feel the heartbeat in the Murtal?"
Herbalist: "I feel my heart beat, when I think about the fact, that I am unique in Austria, so even the powerful herbs don't calm me down any more. But it's nice when your heart does somersaults due to joy."

 

Erlebnisregion Murtal: "Where is your favourite place in the Murtal?"
Herbalist: "I love my garden, here I can have a rest and relax. My favourite place is to sunbathe extensively here. But I would love to explore other parts of the Murtal, such as the beautiful meadows at the Mur. The bees always tell me about them when they come to visit me. Sitting there by the water and enjoying the water must be wonderful. But imagine what people would say if I trudged through the countryside at my 40 metres, no, I'm certainly too shy for that...."
