WORLD CHAMPION AT BIATHLON DAY IN HOHENTAUERN

World champion newcomer at the nordic skills day 2025 in Hohentauern, Styria: Denise Herrmann-Wick, 
Olympic champion and double world champion in biathlon, will join the established team of coaches around 
around Christoph Sumann, Julian Eberhard and Daniel Mesotitsch, will lead the Biathlon Day on February 1, 2025 at the Hohentauern cross-country ski center. “The idea of bringing the sport of biathlon to life in this way has inspired me. I'm looking forward to taking to the trails with the field of participants,” explains Herrmann-Wick. 

GERMAN BIATHLON SUPERSTAR IN HOHENTAUERN

Herrmann-Wick, one of the most successful German biathletes, is coming to Hohentauern: The 35-year-old was crowned Olympic biathlon champion in Beijing in 2022 and world champion in Oberhof in 2023 and Östersund in 2019. In total, the German athlete won 15 World Cup victories during her active career, nine medals at the 
Biathlon World Championships and three medals at the Winter Olympics. Herrmann Wick ended her active career in 2023 and was named German Sportswoman of the Year in the same year. 

TOP ATHLETE AS A LOGICAL STEP

Organizers Bernd Dorrong and Martin Kohlbacher are delighted with the world champion newcomer from Germany: “We are welcoming more and more participants to the nordic skills day every year, which of course makes us which of course makes us very happy. SKI TO SKI WITH BIATHLON LEGENDS

Training takes place all day in small groups, with the individual elements of biathlon being taught by the professionals: A laser shooting range suitable for competitions with an original distance of 50 meters is set up at the cross-country center. The extensive network of trails at around 1,200 meters above sea level offers ideal conditions for working on the skating technique together with the coaching team.

LIMITED NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

Individually tailored test equipment from Nordic world market leader Fischer and a waxing course from Austrian wax specialist HWK for all participants round off the biathlon experience in Hohentauern. The number of participants is limited, cross-country skiing enthusiasts and biathlon fans can secure a place at a price of EUR 125 per person at www.nordic-skills.at.
