Kleinhofer's: Jam-the summer in a jar 2 pers.

Anger

About the offer

Jam is more than just a topping for your toast! This sweet and fruity experience for your taste buds is also a wonderful gift idea and contributes to food rescue. Andrea Schmidhofer takes you on a delicious trip where you will learn more about traditional and new recipes. Take your “summer in a jar” home with you.

To ensure that you have a worry-free and relaxed experience, we provide you with a loaned apron. This way you can enjoy the cooking process without worrying about your clothes.

During the tasting and while making jam different beverages like coffee, tea, water and fruit juices are at your disposal. Besides a variety of jams, we provide bread, butter, yoghurt and cakes including yeast cakes. This way you can not only enjoy the delicious jams but also indulge your taste buds with other flavours. After the tasting we’ll go on a little postprandial stroll through the garden. If there’s still some room in a corner of your belly – nibbling is permitted. At the end you will receive a recipe collection and three self-preserved “summer in a jar” jams for you to take home.

To ensure that you have a worry-free and relaxed experience, we provide you with a loaned apron.

About the serviceprovider

We meet on our small farm “Kleinhofers Himbeernest”. If you wish, you can book an overnight stay in one of our quiet and cosy rooms. For breakfast, we will, of course, spoil you with many different types of homemade jam. In the breakfast room we will start sampling different jams with bread, yoghurt and cake. Coffee, tea, water or fruit juices are also included. We stroll through our garden, where you will learn more about the history of our house, our small “hovel”. The next stop is in the kitchen: preparing fruits, boiling, straining, preserving and lovingly filling the jars. With a few nifty tricks we turn the jam jars into personalized gifts!

I was born in a special place: sunny panoramic location, mild climate with good conditions for fruits, vegetables, herbs as well as flowers and a place where I can live in tune with the four seasons. All this I happily share with my guest. Hospitality is a matter close to my heart. I want visitors to feel it in every little detail: the mindful decorations, a breakfast with many homemade and regional delicacies, that reflect the four seasons of the year, are a joy to me and my guests.

We share our little farm with 3 angora goats, 10 chickens and 3 cats. Hubert takes care of the meadows and our woodland – that’s why I call him Minister of Foreign Affairs. Meticulously stacked woodpiles reveal his passion for cutting trees, preparing firewood and kindling a fire in the tiled stove. My area of work is the kitchen, the house and the garden – actually, I suppose, that makes me the Interior Minister, right?

Our Himbeernest – Rasperry Nest – contains small, cosy guest accommodations: 5 rooms, each with bathroom and toilet, wooden floors, natural wood beds, every room has its own special detail; room 1 for example has hand-printed curtains, room 2 has lamps created by a ceramicist, in room 4 you find a bed made by a carpenter from solid wood - the old cherry tree was the kind donor of the wood… The meadows and woods around the house belong to the “hovel”, which is what a small farm is traditionally called in our region. This affords us the opportunity to create beautiful places around the house: a sunny terrace, a shady spot in the garden under the cherry tree, a protected inner courtyard with a sandpit for children, a circular spot with stone walls and a fire bowl (and a stunning view) were created and delight us and our guests.
