The ***Erlebnisgasthof Moasterhaus offers a variety of opportunities to enjoy a nice break with family, friends, or colleagues. Surrounded by the breathtaking mountain landscape, Salzstiegl presents itself in summer as a place of tranquility and a starting point for adventures alike.
Explore the surrounding forests, lush alpine meadows, and experience the peace and quiet while hiking. From cozy hut walks to challenging hiking tours, Salzstiegl offers a wide range of activities. Popular hiking routes include the ascent to Speikkogel, Rappoldkogel, and Hirschegger Alm.
In addition to hiking trails, Salzstiegl also offers plenty of action. At Gasthof Moasterhaus, adventure seekers will find a 19.5-hectare trial park, featuring many natural obstacles as well as some artificial barriers.
If you have always wanted to try trial riding, you can book a trial hour including a trainer and equipment. During this hour, you will learn the basic techniques such as stopping, starting, making wide and tight turns, and riding uphill and downhill. You will also learn how to stop in any situation.
If you already have more experience, you can participate in a day trip. Children also have the opportunity to learn this sport – special E-trials are available for this purpose.
Additionally, there is the option to book a trial excursion.

- 38 rooms and 150 beds (some with bunk beds, all with shower and toilet, TV and free Wi-Fi, some with balcony)
- Breakfast from 8:00 to 10:00: A great start to the morning with fresh pastries such as alpine bread, vegetables, fruit, egg dishes, various sausage and cheese offerings
- Dinner from 6:00 - 8:00: Three-course choice menu with salad buffet or delicious, hearty buffet in the cozy alpine parlor - depending on the number of guests (alternatively à la carte)

Arrival
- Access from Graz/Vienna/Budapest: South Motorway A2 towards Klagenfurt - Exit Modriach - Hirschegg/Salzstiegl, total 22 km. In Hirschegg turn right and continue about 9 km to the little paradise at Salzstiegl.
- Access from St. Michael - Upper Styria - Linz: On the S36 towards Klagenfurt - Exit Zeltweg West, follow the signs to Gaberl - Weißkirchen - at the roundabout sign for Salzstiegl - not towards Gaberl, but on state road 542 - small sign at a chapel towards Groß-Kleinfeistritz, about 10 km.
