Our winery covers around two hectares of vineyards and draws from the entire Styrian range. We are constantly working on quality and continuously improving it.
In addition, we own one of the best vineyards in Styria and try to utilise this potential. From the 2011 vintage onwards, a new line was created in addition to the classic style: This style involves combining tradition with terroir. Our wine thrives at around 400 metres above sea level in an ideal location. The soil composition consists of calcareous Rendzina on the upper slope (opaque/slate) and decalcified rocky brown earth in the hollow area. Our classic wines Our Styrian classic wines are dry, white quality wines made from traditional Styrian grape varieties.Local wines Local wines are wines that are characterised by their typicality and aroma due to their location, altitude and soil conditions. By naming the wines after their communities of origin, we are reviving an old tradition: As early as the middle of the last century, localities were indicated on the labels for wines that were particularly typical of the region and people spoke of Leutschach, Glanzer or Gamlitz wines.Site wines Our single vineyard wines reflect the terroir of the Pössnitzberg. The unique minerality of the soil is made up of opok rock with a high lime content. These conditions, combined with deliberately low harvest quantities and careful ageing in wooden barrels, result in the exceptionally characteristic and storable wines for which the Pössnitzberg vineyard is known.
