FOR GENERATIONS - OUR FAMILY BUSINESS SINCE 1943
My grandfather, who was born in 1913, started beekeeping at the age of 17 out of passion for working with bees. In the course of time, the apiary grew into a commercial apiary. The business is now already in the third generation and is still run as a full-time business by me and my family.
Our farm is located in the middle of the South Styrian culture and wine country. In this area, mainly flower honey is harvested. In our farm we harvest mixed flower honey and chestnut honey. Our blossom honey reflects a variety of nectar from meadow flowers as well as fruit blossoms, lime trees and acacias. Thus, this blossom honey provides a very strong aroma.
Due to the large number of sweet chestnuts in our wine country, we also have the privilege of harvesting chestnut honey, which is one of the most valuable types of honey due to its spicy, tart taste.
But also forest honey, which we harvest on the Soboth, near the reservoir, on the Styrian-Carinthian border, is one of our products. As a sideline we still offer genuine Styrian pumpkin seed oil from our own cultivation and harvest.
