On Slovenian territory sits a historic church with an attached bell tower that tells an eventful story. First mentioned in a document in 1490, today's church has shone in Baroque style since 1655.
The striking church tower on the border has served as a lookout tower since 1935 and was extensively renovated in 2003 thanks to funding from Austria and the EU. In the summer months, the tower invites visitors to enjoy a free panoramic view - access is via the south side. A special highlight is the annual Wartenfest, which is traditionally celebrated on Whit Monday.
Freely accessible.
