Our wine... ...has something unique even for southern Styria.

Our goal is to give the wines the opportunity to reflect the origin, soil characteristics and climatic conditions of a vintage. Our wines are authentic, we do not want to put a "style" on them. Hans our winemaker and cellar master is supported by father Adolf with words and deeds. Gentle processing, a lot of knowledge, elaborate handwork and strict quality control is our top priority.

Hiking tip: The circular hiking trail No. 9 in Sulztal passes directly by our wine idyll. Immediately nearby is the famous Herzerl Street. From there you have a beautiful view of the vineyards of Slovenia.

The South Styrian Wine Route with its steep hills offers ideal conditions for our typical grape varieties. They are mainly white wines, some of them regionally specific varieties such as the Gelber Muskateller or the Welschriesling. Steep slope viticulture is complex and labor-intensive. But the steep slope, as the Romans already knew, offers optimal conditions for first-class wines. Our goal is to give the wines the opportunity to reflect the origin, soil and climatic conditions of a vintage. Our wines are authentic, we do not want to impose a "style" on them. This ambitious goal requires knowledge, experience and laborious manual work. Our winemaker and cellar master Hans is responsible for this, supported in word and deed by father Adolf. The top priority is a strict reduction of yields. That is why you can only buy our wines directly from us, you will not find them in any supermarket. We have deliberately chosen to be and remain "small but mighty". This strictly quality-oriented manual work begins in spring with the manual forming of the shoots in order to achieve the best possible and uniform ripeness of the grapes. It continues in the summer according to the motto "less is sometimes more": Cutting out whole bunches or parts of the grapes reduces the yield, but thereby increases the quality. The gentle harvest in late summer and autumn is also done by hand by our family members. Only perfect material leaves the vineyards. The close location of the vineyards allows the grapes to be brought quickly and intact to the press and processed in the most gentle way. The subsequent aging of the wines takes place in modern stainless steel vats, which are the right choice for classic white wines. Our only red wine variety, the Zweigelt, is vinified in oak barrels according to old tradition.
