Adel Dauood was born in 1980 in Al-Hasakah, Syria. From 1998 to 2011, he studied at the Center of Fine Arts in Al-Hasakah and at the Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Damascus. In 2012, Adel Dauood fled from Syria to Vienna, where he now lives and works as an artist.
“For me, painting is a kind of rebellious reaction to the pain and cruelty caused by our many, never-ending wars. My painting is also an inner monologue about my loneliness, which is brought to the outside through my paintings to enter into a dialog with the viewer, about my memories, full of color, violence and scorched earth and about my present, determined by despair, restlessness and the fear of the unknown.” (Adel Dauood)
Duration of the exhibition: until November 21, 2024
Open every Thursday until 6 pm, on all event days and at any time by appointment.
