Annagramm - Austropop in neuem Gewand
Leutschach an der WeinstraßeAnnagramm stands for modern Austropop that combines tradition and innovation. The name refers to front woman Anna Hiden and the creative play with music and words. With Styrian harmonica, piano, drums, bass and three-part vocals, they create a sound that goes straight to the heart with touching dialect lyrics.
The band was founded in 2019 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. In addition to Anna Hiden, Nikolaus Waltersdorfer (drums, vocals) and Fridolin Krenn (bass, vocals) were among the founding members. In 2020, the line-up was expanded to include Johannes Kölbl (Styrian harmonica), and in 2021 Marcus Weberhofer took over the electric bass.
Annagramm combines timeless Austropop elements with influences from reggae, Latin American music and Alpine folk music. They presented their debut album “Herz oder Verstand” at the Orpheum Extra and their second album “Wenn” at the Dom im Berg. Festival appearances such as at “Heroes on Stage”, the Kultursommer Wien or together with the Styrian State Youth Wind Orchestra underline their versatility.
The album “Wenn” comprises nine original compositions that address themes such as home, love and the unknown. With the “Grazissimo Brass Quintett” they expand their sound with special timbres. Annagramm stands for Austropop with heart, mind and a new, unmistakable sound.
