KATHARINA ANNA LOIDL (born 1978 in Linz, Austria) studied Experimental Design and Cultural Studies at the University of Art and Industrial Design Linz. She has been working as a freelance artist since 2009. Since then, she has completed extended project and artist-in-residence stays in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Canada, the United States, Indonesia, etc. Her work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions. She has realized works in the course of KunstamBau competitions and has been awarded scholarships and recognitions for her artistic works.

“LIGHTINGS”
The combination of the abstract with the figurative, the futuristic with the historical, urban architecture with rural nature forms the unifying element of this exhibition. Thematically, the exhibition spans an arc from rural terrain to urban living space. The title of the exhibition describes the interplay of light and shadow, the visible and the invisible, and invites us to expand our own horizons, to break them open, to concentrate and focus again. For this exhibition, the artist draws on her photographic collection, which she has amassed over the course of her numerous project trips. In addition to photographic series of works, the exhibition also presents print reproductions that expand the spectrum of photographic expression.
