I AM TREE (D): 7 pm in the wine cellar at Seggau Castle The Berlin Jazz Prize is just her latest decoration. Now the multiple award-winning saxophonist Silke Eberhard presents her new program with the trio I Am Three, in which the spirit of Charles Mingus still hovers over everything and the band's language is unadulteratedly wild and experimental, full of groove and close interplay.
AVRAM FEFER QUARTET (US): 10 pm at Weinkeller Schloss Seggau The stratospheric quartet of the jazz veteran Avram Fefer is primal and explosive. In a charismatic balance between brisk post-bop and daring formal freedom, the fearless saxophone colossus does not hide his preference for West African and Arabic music.
