When the quiet of winter has settled over southern Styria, you might get the impression at first glance that time stands still here. But don't worry - especially in winter there is a lot going on in Southern Styria. In the cellars of the wineries, work continues in the cold months after the harvest, of course, because - the new vintage wants to be created and therefore needs a lot of attention from the winegrowers and their helpers.
At the southern end of the Schilcher Wine Route - where at the foothills of the Koralpe picturesque vineyards are replaced by large-scale orchards, our family has been working the land since the 17th century. In a visionary way, our grandfather switched from farming and animal husbandry to fruit growing and not infrequently received a disparaging smile from the neighbors. However, the success proved him right. The quality of the raw material of our originally purely fresh fruit producing farm was and is the basis for the premium quality of our wines. Every vineyard has its own aura - and only a prudent winemaker can breathe life into the vines and press from them wines that touch the soul.
