Seggauer Schlossmatineen: Quadriga Consort

"Midsummer"

The Quadriga Consort has been one of the most successful ensembles on the Austrian music scene for many years. The group around arranger, composer, harpsichordist and conductor Nikolaus Newerkla has created an unmistakable sound with influences from early music, folk and pop. Singer Sophie Eder moves effortlessly between the traditional styles and languages of Northern Europe.
The ensemble's unmistakable trademark is that traditional melodies and songs from the British Isles and Scandinavia, which have always been handed down in unison, are rearranged for historical instruments.

Over the years, ten CDs have been produced, some of them award-winning and most recently released by SONY. Concert appearances have taken the musicians to many European countries - performing in venerable halls such as the Vienna Musikverein - but also in the USA.

Sophie Eder: Vocals
Karin Silldorff: recorders
Angelika Huemer: recorders, viola da gamba
Dominika Teufel: viola da gamba
Philipp Comploi: Basse de Violon
Laurenz Schiffermüller: Percussion
Nikolaus Newerkla: harpsichord, vibrandoneon, comp& arr, conductor

Tickets can be booked with or without culinary delights. If you decide to attend the concert with culinary delights afterwards, you can expect a buffet of seasonal and regional delicacies served by Seggau Castle's own kitchen.
