29th Styrian Advent music in the Wies parish church
On Friday, 29 November 2024, the Styrian Advent Music will take place for the 29th time in the Wies parish church, traditionally offering an atmospheric musical program in the run-up to Christmas. This year, a very special guest returns to his homeland: the renowned actor Simon Hatzl will take part in the event as narrator and accompany the audience into a festive and contemplative Advent atmosphere. The Styrian Advent Music begins at 19:30 and promises a varied program. The evening's music will be provided by the Oberhart choir, harpist Julia Gruber, the brass section of the Wies market band and the Knöpferlstreich group. The folk music ensemble of the Erzherzog-Johann-Musikschule Wies will provide a musical introduction to the evening from 7 pm.
For Simon Hatzl, the role of narrator at this event means a special return to his roots. Born in Wies, he discovered his passion for acting at a young age. At the age of 15, he was already on stage at the “Burgstaller Bauernkalender” summer theater at Burgstall Castle, where he gained his first experience and began his acting career. He completed his training at the renowned Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, where he graduated in 1998. In 2001, he was recognized for his exceptional talent with a nomination for “Best Young Talent” at the Nestroy Theatre Prize.
