This year, for the tenth time, the Styrian Photo Biennale, organised by Kulturvermittlung Steiermark, presents a cross-section of the current photography scene in Graz and Styria. photo graz sees itself as a forum that is committed to artistic photography beyond leisure or travel photography.
The Styrian Photo Biennale has established itself as a platform for artistic photography since 2006 and is the only initiative in Austria that continuously presents and documents the work of an entire region. Around 300 artists born or working in Styria submitted works this year, from which 150 entries were selected by an international jury. The exhibition is characterised by the juxtaposition of the most diverse themes and technical possibilities - from internationally active artists, the younger generation from the photography schools to established personalities from an older generation. On display are individual images, series, photo installations and objects created in the period 2022-24. All submissions are presented in a handbook, and images, texts and biographies of the artists are also available online.
