St. Andrä - Höcher Round No. 21 Variant b
This variant is a small, fine loop with little difference in altitude.
The first historical reference to the Sausal dates back to 977, when the forest "Susil" became the property of the Archbishopric of Salzburg.of the Archbishopric of Salzburg. Farmers cleared the forest through generations of hard work,drained the swampy valleys and ditches and planted vines on the bare, sunny mountain slopes.sunny mountain slopes. Sausal place names such as Reith, Greith, Neurath, Neudorf still remind us of this today.

Coming from the south, north, west and east on the A9 Phyrnautobahn - exit Leibnitz - continue towards Kaindorf/S - Heimschuh - Kitzeck - St. Andrä/Höch.
Variant 21b: Small St. Andrä Round. Variant 21b offers the possibility of considerably shortening the circular hiking trail starting in Sankt Andrä im Sausal without major differences in altitude. (See tour St. Andrä-Höcher round no. 21)
After the hike, visit the panorama walkway with a magnificent view or the world's largest Klapotetz on the Demmerkogel.
We take the train to Kaindorf/Sulm.
