Valuable minerals, crystal clear crystals and sparkling gemstones can be seen in the museum of mineral collector Franz Ritzinger.On three levels, the private collection of incredible natural wonders in a limitless variety of shapes and colours. Part of the exhibition are rare cinnabar crystals, perfectly formed iron blossoms from the treasure chambers of the Styrian Erzberg, finds from Switzerland and regionally typical iron blossom boxes made by miners in loving detail. The permanent exhibition is rounded off by annually changing special exhibitions.Visitors will also find glass and blacksmith’s art, regional gifts, jewellery and, of course, unique minerals from all over the world in the well-stocked shop.Since 2018, the Mineral Museum has been housed in a specially converted and adapted building, which in its core is one of the oldest houses of iron ore. During two years of reconstruction, it was possible to combine historical building elements from the 15th century with modern architecture. The addition of historical quarry stone walls with elements of glass and steel created a successful ambience for this unique mineral museum.
