Enjoyment tour with culture

From Gasthof Eberhard we head in the direction of Traboch. Once there, you can take a break at Gasthaus Meisenbichler. A wonderful shopping opportunity is the department store Sattler in Timmersdorf. A wonderful view over the valley is offered by the detour to Reiterhof Kern. In Pfaffendorf you should not miss the bacon specialties of Erich Steinrisser! For a change of pace, take a llama hike at Rössllhof Hubner in Mautern! Shortly before Kalwang you get the best of sausages and smoked meats at the Speckkaiser Girnerhof of the Mitteregger family. (** see author's tip) The tour leads back to Kammern (be sure to visit the museum courtyard!) where the Judmayer Inn invites you to stop for a bite to eat. Here you will also find the bee trail of the traditional beekeeping Stabler. At Nah & Frisch in the village you can enjoy a GenussReiche Jause. Directly on the way is the farm of the organic pioneers Kain. Stop by the Sommer-Stix family for a cider. Back in St. Michael, horse fans can visit the Steinegger organic farm. You can buy souvenirs in the store next to the school "Klein & Fein" and the butcher's store Kofler and the organic farm Einödmoar of the Haberl family, where you can also go on a herb hike. You can spend the night and enjoy a meal at the St. Michael guesthouse or at Gasthof Eberhard in the old village.

For all the sporty among you, the tour can be continued along the bike path to Kalwang. Enjoy a delicious lunch menu at the Kupferwirt and visit the fish farm Igler with its small GenussFisch store.

How to get there:

Public transport: by train directly to Sankt Michael,

Arrival (by car): Coming from Vienna, direction Bruck an der Mur on the S6, continue towards Salzburg, Sankt Michael Ost exit, then immediately right into the Alte Dorf, in the center is the Gasthof Eberhard - very well signposted.

Coming from Salzburg/Linz, or Graz and Klagenfurt, exit at the St. Michael junction, go straight over the traffic circle and turn left at the Raiba/Polizei into the Alte Dorf.
