

Bruck Heuberg Loop
Ideal for combining with a hike along the "Tausendersteig" to the Schweizeben Alpine Inn, and a walk over the "Zöttelsteig" to the Brucker Hochanger and Hochanger Mountain Shelter. This makes for an extensive full-day hike.

From Vienna: Take the A2 Southern Motorway and S6 Semmering Expressway to the Bruck an der Mur exit. At the roundabout, take the third exit towards Leoben. After 100 meters, turn left at the first traffic light (signposted “Weitental”).
Then, keeping right, pass under both the railway and the expressway, continuing past the cemetery to the parking area at the entrance to the Weitental valley.

From Graz: Take the A9 Phyrn Motorway and S35 Bruck Expressway to the Bruck an der Mur exit. Continue as described above.
From the west (Linz, Salzburg, Germany): Take the A9 Phyrn Motorway and S6 Semmering Expressway to Bruck West. At the exit, keep left until reaching an intersection near a furniture store. Then, keep right through the Bruck district of Oberaich, just before the roundabout mentioned above. At the traffic light, turn right (signposted “Weitental”) and continue as described above.
From Weitental, follow the Rabensteinwand towards Fleischhackeralm. After 2.3 km, turn left onto the path towards Heuberg.
A visit to the wildlife rescue station in the Brucker Weitental makes for the perfect conclusion to the hike.
