MTB Johanneskapelle
This interesting short tour leads partly on roads, forest roads and forest paths. The tour to the sun terrace of Leoben with beautifully maintained family homes and then goes through a forest area. After overcoming the steepest part of the route, you reach the hidden, idyllically situated Johanniskapelle. After a refreshment in the horse paradise Scheer you cycle back to Leoben via the Mur cycle path R2.

Coming from Graz on the A9 exit St. Michael ob Leoben and on the S 35 to Leoben > direction Zentrum/Asia SpaComing from Vienna on the S 6 to Bruck an der Mur and Leoben > direction Zentrum/Asia Spa
Directly after the Asia Spa, we cross the pedestrian bridge that leads over the Mur River and immediately use the sloping short path to get from the beautifully constructed Bermenweg up to the Südbahnstrasse. We keep to the right and follow the course of the road here, at the intersection we turn left and cross the railroad, the course of the road goes briefly uphill with a sharp left turn. Shortly after the bend we take the second road that branches off to the left, the Veitsbergweg is a road that leads us to the "sun terrace of the city", here are numerous beautifully hidden family homes. We follow the road to a large parking lot, from where numerous hikers visit the montanhistoric hiking trail. Here we keep to the right and go along the Prentgraben. After about 5 minutes we come to a bridge, directly after this we turn left into the steeply ascending forest path and follow it to the Johanniskapelle. After about 100 meters we pass a gate. A short ascent follows. We follow the path straight on and go through a cubed piece of forest until we reach the junction with the asphalt road.
Tip - at the next crossroads there is the horse paradise Scheer with a rest stop.
Then we follow the course of the road, cross the village of Proleb with its church to St. Martin and join the main road directly. Here we turn left until we come to the intersection Köllach, but we stay on the bike path in the direction of Niklasdorf, cross the Mur bridge, pass a dog school until we arrive at the federal road 116, here we follow the Murradweg R2 to the right back towards Leoben.

Coming by car in the direction of the train station, from the train station over the bridge over the river Mur to the traffic circle (the Asia Spa is already signposted here) - take the third exit, follow the road and park in front of the Asia Spa Leoben. There is also an e-bike filling station here and you can relax in the wellness area of the Asia Spa after the tour.
