Route for more demanding through Tollinggraben instead of route via Panoramastrecke with connection to route LN 7 just before the plateau.

Selective alternative route to LN 7 with ascent through the Tollinggraben, which is protected by the forest especially in high summer, and subsequent view from the high plateau over Tollinggraben to the lowland. High percentage of both nature and cultural sights. The route leads past the former weir "Tollinghof", former gallery remains of the shiny coal mining, the castle complex Freienstein and the castle Friedhofen in St. Peter Freienstein, 75% on gravel and almost 100% on side roads.

Criterion: Steep, short climb on the Tollinghöhe to the high plateau (20%) and road crossing in St. Peter Fr.

The starting point of this tour is at the parking lot of the Billa supermarket in St. Peter Freienstein.

The starting point of this tour is at the parking lot of the Billa supermarket in St. Peter Freienstein and leads after crossing the railroad line through the Schörglhofsiedlung near the wire rolling mill of VÖEST-Alpine to Neuwerk in Donawitz. It now goes back over the railroad and after the traffic circle at the former "Fröschlwirt" straight ahead into the Tollinggraben. First you pass the Ansitz Tollinghof - a former weir, which unfortunately cannot be visited - on a slightly ascending gravel road, before the path winds its way up through the Tollinggraben. At the end of the Tollinggraben, the two routes rejoin and after a short, steep climb, you reach the high plateau with scattered farms, pastures and magnificent panoramic views. The descent to the Upper Tollinggraben and to St. Peter Fr. is now on a good gravel road in the forest and, after passing the Freienstein castle complex, you return to the starting point.

The route is 2% on the main paved road and 98% on secondary roads. The nature of these roads and paths is divided into 20% asphalt and 80% gravel.
