Wintery Marterlweg Route 3
Each of the wayside shrines tells its own story and is usually located along the path or on private property. The wayside shrines are lovingly cared for by their owners throughout the year.
Route 3 (red) offers a lot of variety and leads past a total of 12 wayside shrines, chapels and wayside shrines. Especially worth seeing is the Ulrich church in Seiz.
A detailed description of the wayside shrines/crosses can be found in the Marterlweg map, which is also available online or can be taken free of charge at the market square.

More information
Take the freeway exit on the Pyhrnautobahn A9 at the Landzeit rest stop, there a connecting road leads to the B113, which then leads to Seiz on the right. At the Landgasthof Gietl turn left onto the L116 in the direction of Edling/Trofaiach. Approx. 1 km in a long right-hand bend is a turn into the elevated road to the starting point of the tour.
Coming from Graz/Vienna/Klagenfurt:
At the St. Michael freeway junction, take the A9 Pyrnautobahn north (towards Salzburg/Linz) and about 4 km later take the Traboch exit. At the traffic circle take the 3rd exit in the direction of Kammern im Liesingtal. On the federal road B113 you drive approx. 5 km to the village Seiz, there you turn right on the L116 in the direction of Edling/Trofaiach. Approx. 1 km in a long right turn is a turn into the high road to the starting point of the tour.
It is also no secret that hiking makes you hungry and thirsty. Of course, along the Marterlweg there are quite a few "rest stops" as well as resting benches where you can linger and recharge your batteries (see map legend). Directly at the starting point you will also find a pictorial description of all 4 tours through Kammern as well as a hiking map for free withdrawal.
