Brandweg

The "Brandweg" is located in ERZBERG LEOBEN.
The Brandweg branches off approx. 80 m east of the Lindenhof in the direction of Großdorf. On a wide forest road it goes through the forest and over clearings to the Wohntal-Brücke above the settlement in Großdorf. From here you can continue hiking to Bosa to Unterort or in the direction of Pichl-Großdorf.

The origin of the name "Brandweg" cannot be traced with certainty, but it probably dates back to the time of the Brandkorn cultivation. The fresh slashes were burned and cultivated with buckwheat or rye. The ash has the property to act as phosphorus fertilizer.
