Situated at 849 m above sea level, the small village is surrounded by the magnificent peaks of the Gesäuse, the Ennstal Alps, the Rottenmanner and Triebener Tauern. This makes it the perfect starting point for walks, hikes or Nordic walking in wooded surroundings. Special routes and courses according to Feng Shui criteria are offered by the local NWO-certified Nordic Walking centre. The best place to enjoy cosiness and conviviality is at one of the alpine huts. A "Brettljause" (snack) with "Schnapserl" (schnapps) and a panoramic view guarantees pure relaxation for body and soul.
The recreational lake in Wald am Schoberpass is the perfect place to cool off after a long hike. For families, the leisure lake offers a children's play world with a wobbly footbridge, towers, slides, beach volleyball court, table tennis, water trampoline, Ice Tower XL, footbridge with jumping facilities, raft in the middle of the leisure lake, children's swings, covered sand play box and an excluded non-swimmer area. Due to the central location, you can make numerous day trips from here to the most beautiful parts of Styria, Salzburg and Upper Austria.
