The starting point of the hike is the village square in Stubenberg. The route leads gently uphill into the forest shortly after leaving the village area. The path then drops down to the Zeilbach stream and crosses it.
The route continues with a slight incline uphill through the Grabenwald forest. You leave the forest shortly after crossing it again. Now you walk at a medium gradient across meadows and past farmsteads for another short stretch through the forest. You finally reach the Michlhof inn.
Once again through the forest, you reach the upper altitude range of the municipality of Stubenberg. A short, flat section follows and the path leads past farmsteads, meadows and pastures with a slight incline. You then cross a large section of forest. You pass the Hofertoni wine tavern and then follow the road down into the valley to Stubenberg.
