Stroller Tour: R. Eybner Promenade to Grundlsee

Closed
Shady walk, upstream the Traun River to Grundlsee Lake. No significant differences in altitude.
The "Richard Eybner Promenade" is named after the prominent chamber actor Prof. Richard Eybner (1896-1986), who was a regular guest at the Hotel Wasnerin in Bad Aussee for decades. He made the statement: "In Aussee you only meet smart people. The stupid ones go home when it rains and the clever ones stay there".

It is best to plan your journey to Bad Aussee using google.at/maps.
Take a leisurely stroll through the spa park and continue along the main street and Meranplatz into Kirchengasse. After a few meters you turn left into the Richard-Eybner-Promenade. Follow the signs to Grundlsee, walk above the cemetery to the decaying remains of the "Rosegger ski jump", under the superstructure and down through the forest to the heating plant of the district heating Bad Aussee. Here you cross the provincial road to Grundlsee and walk on the asphalt bike and hiking path to the "Eiserner Steg".Cross the Grundlseer Traun and walk along the shady gravel path directly next to the Traun to the settlement in the district of Aschau.

Pass the "Waldruhe" inn, continue uphill along the promenade, past a river weir until you reach the so-called "Fischersteg" after about 1.5 kilometers after the "Waldruhe". On it the Traun is crossed again. Beyond the state road, at the driveway to the Grundlsee vacation club, you walk left on the again asphalted cycle and hiking path for the last 400 meters to the Seeklause of the Grundlsee. Here a wonderful view opens to the east over the lake, the "Styrian Sea" is reached.

Arrived at the Grundlsee, a boat trip offers itself.
