Grebenzen-heights

St. Lambrecht

Colorful, lush alpine meadows in the Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park!

The natural jewel of the Grebenzen lies at the highest altitudes, from around 1800 m to the summits. Between the Grebenzen-Schutzhaus, the 1st Grebenzen summit, the Dreiwiesenhütte and the second Grebenzenhöhe, the subalpine forest is interrupted by pastureland.

Depending on the location, in particular whether it is a ski slope or an intensively grazed area or not, grass-dominated or very flower-rich open land sites are created. The lean, shallow and less frequently grazed grasslands are very rich in animal species.

The lush and colorful pastures of the Grebenzen are therefore also ideal for fantastic hikes.
