Heimatmuseum Oberwölz - on the trail of bygone times The city museum is located in the medieval Schötteltor complex of the Kulturhaus on an area of around 250 m². It brings to life the history of what was once the property of the Bishopric of Freising with Rothenfels Castle. A tour of the local history museum gives visitors impressions of the life and work of previous generations.
The 3,300-year-old octagonal sword from the Urnfield period, other finds from the Hallstatt period and a rich collection of various exhibits are silent witnesses to the long and interesting history of settlement.Special "delicacies" are the fully equipped cobbler's workshop, the weaving mill, the farmer's parlor and the smoked kitchen in the town tower.
