The plague was the most serious medical event in known human history. Around a third of the European population fell victim to it.
The Leutgebkapelle chapel was built in 1838 and dedicated to St. Mary in thanks for the end of the epidemic. Today, the spruce building stands in the shade of a hundred-year-old lime tree and invites you to pause for a moment.
The chapel is locked. It can be viewed from the outside.
