The parish church of Stadl / Mur occupies a wonderful place on the northern slope that borders the town and the valley. At night, the path to the parish church is atmospherically illuminated.
There is the assumption that Stadl originally belonged to the original parish of Mariapfarr. The year 1505 is visible in the ribbed vault of the presbytery. The church in Stadl, dedicated to St. John the Baptist is located at exactly 914 m above sea level. It has a single nave and, like almost all old churches, has a face. The presbytery, the chancel of the parish church, is off-axis and inclined to the north.
