Kohlibauweg (path 13)

Child-friendly hike partly along the banks of the stream, partly in the forest, past the medieval castle and back to the town of Oberwölz.
The trail leads across the recreation center and along the Wölzerbach stream to the main road, finally somewhat uphill through the forest, where the mossy ground and the many cones invite you to play and linger. It is also possible to make a detour to the "Sagenweg", whose markings you pass on the way back.

More information

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Here turn right to Murau. In Niederwölz keep right again and drive to Oberwölz.

Coming from Tamsweg drive via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) to Murau. Continue to Niederwölz - keepf left here and drive towards Oberwölz.

From the information center opposite the town parish church follow the signs to the leisure center (Attention: in Hintereggertor turn left, along the town wall!).

Continue in the direction of the sports field. After the footbridge over the Wölzerbach, turn left and follow the path along the Wölzerbach (downstream). After leaving the forest, you can already see the bridge over the Wölzerbach ("Forestbridge") in the distance on you left. Immediately afterwards you reach the main road, cross it and follow the slightly ascending road to the right. After about 400 meters you reach a small footbridge and turn left into the forest. After a haipin bend on the steep uphill path you reach the front hill of the "Kalibau". Here you have a beautiful view of the Wölzer valley.

The path finally leads to a forest road, which you follow to the left. Soon you reach a bend in the road to Kirchberg, which you follow downhill. Pass Rothenfels Castle and the campsite to reach the municipal road to Salchau. There you turn left and follow the hollow way (do driving) downhill to Oberwölz.
