alpannonia circular route - in Peter Rosegger's footsteps, St. Kathrein am Hauenstein
The alpannonia circular route in Peter Rosegger's footsteps starts in St. Kathrein am Hauenstein in Eastern Styria, where the poet's favorite church is also located.
The community of St. Kathrein am Hauenstein is known for Peter Rosegger - there is an exhibition about his life here, and the poet's favorite church is also located here. A section of the path also leads to where he went to Christmas mass with his family every year on Christmas Eve. From St. Kathrein am Hauenstein to the Ziesler Anger we follow the signs "Christmettenweg", to the Alpler Schanz the red alpannonia marking and on the way back to St. Kathrein am Hauenstein the "Christmettenrundweg" marking.
