The Edelraute Hut is located at 1,725 m above sea level and can be reached from Hohentauern on foot (5.5 km) or by car or taxi via the toll road. From the car park it is about a 10-minute walk to the hut. The Alpine Club hut is the right place for day tourists and hiking enthusiasts to explore the nearby large Scheiblsee or to climb the surrounding mountains (e.g. Bösenstein 2.448 m, Großer Hengst 2.159 m and Hauseck 1.982 m).
The hut has 6 double rooms, 1 triple room, 2 four-bed rooms, 1 five-bed room, a 10-bed dormitory and an 18-bed dormitory - a total of 58 sleeping places. For breakfast there is a rich breakfast buffet. The Alpine Club Hut is also suitable for celebrations such as birthdays, christenings, weddings, confirmation, pension, family and Christmas parties.
In summer for hiking and fishing (at the Gr. Scheiblsee and Kl. Scheiblsee - fishing rental possible), in winter for ski touring, snowshoeing and tobogganing (toboggan rental).
The good home cooking is known for its down-to-earth and fresh cuisine with homemade specialities. In addition to a delicious breakfast buffet, soups and fresh salads from the buffet, we offer you various main courses such as Wienerschnitzel, roast pork and egg gnocchi. There is a special children's menu for our younger guests and we have a selection of small snacks and snacks for in-between meals.
A cosy parlour and a dining room offer space for 120 people. In summer, the guest garden offers space for another 150 people. The Edelrautehütte is rustic and cosy.
