The cozy Steinplan shelter in the immediate vicinity of the summit invites you to linger. Both hikers and mountain bikers can enjoy a magnificent panorama from the sun terrace.
At 1,670 meters, the Steinplan is the local mountain of Knittelfeld, Lobming and Rachau. Marked hiking trails lead from all sides across the extensive forest and alpine pasture area of the Glein- and Stubalpe to the Steinplan summit with its unique view. In the mountain hut and on the spacious sun terrace, home-style cooking with regional products is offered.
Marked hiking trails lead from all sides across the extensive alpine pastures and forests of the Glein- and Stubalpe to the Steinplan with its unique view. To the south you can see the Stubalpe, Grössing, Koralpe and the Karawanken. The Seetal Alps with the Zirbitzkogel, as well as the first glacier mountains of the Hohe Tauern with the Hochalmspitze limit the view to the west. To the north, the Aichfeld spreads out in the valley and in the background you can see the peaks of the Seckau Alps and Niedere Tauern as well as the Eisenerz Alps. To the east, the view extends from Voitsberg to the Schöckl and Wildoner Berg.
In winter, the mountain is popular with ski tourers and snowshoe hikers. You have the opportunity to warm up in the beautiful winter room.

- from Kleinlobming - Hintertal, 12.5 km, 910 vertical meters, medium difficulty
- from Rachau, 16 km, 1,010 vertical meters, difficult
"Brandwaldsteig" - single trail - for cyclists only, helmet compulsory!!!
Freeride trail in the town of Knittelfeld, freely accessible. A beautiful trail that requires some downhill-oriented frame geometry. Steeper in the lower section and muddy after precipitation.
Entry: 1,253 m, exit: 816 m, route length 3 km.
