This is the information for the 2025 hike:
The 24 or 12 hour hike is an absolute highlight of the hiking season in the Almenland Nature Park. Locals, hikers and guests from near and far come to Breitenau am Hochlantsch to work out their hiking calves together. The high-altitude hike around Breitenau with all the mountain peaks offers wonderful views of the Mürztal, the Hochschwab and the Styrian hills.
24 hour hike
with approx. 52 kilometers, 3,000 meters in altitude
The route: Breitenau - Schusserlbrunn - Bärenschützklamm - Teichalm - Sommeralm - Teichalm - Hochlantsch - Schusserlbrunn - Breitenau
There are some breaks but no sleep!
Meeting point: 23 May at 5.00 p.m. at the village square in St. Jakob (Breitenau am Hochlantsch district)
12 hour hike
with about 22 kilometers, 1,000 meters in altitude
As an alternative, you can also explore the shortened version. The route: Sommeralm - Teichalm - Hochlantsch - Schusserlbrunn - Breitenau
Meeting point: 24 May at 5.30 a.m. at the village square in St. Jakob (Breitenau am Hochlantsch district)
The participants will be taken up to the Sommeralm by bus.
Entry fees:
- 24 hour hike: € 105.00
- 12 hour hike: €80.00
The entry fees include the tour guide and the shuttle service (also in the event of early termination). There is also full catering with 3 warm meals and coffee with cake at the finish. Furthermore, the supply along the route and a digital photo service. At the end you can expect a massage at the finish and shower facilities on site. There is also a large non-cash prize draw among all participants as well as a souvenir gift.
