Patrick Hahn discovered his love of Georg Kreisler's sharp-witted and biting humour by chance in 2014.
This fun developed - again rather unplanned - into an entire music cabaret programme with which Patrick Hahn has since delighted thousands of people, accompanying himself on the piano. After his acclaimed debut programme ‘Weil ich unmusikalisch bin’ (2014), he went into overtime in 2016 when he presented his new programme ‘Taubenvergiften für Fortgeschrittene’. Now a third programme is also ready: ‘Hahn sings Kreisler’.
Usually a conductor on the world's great concert stages, General Music Director Patrick Hahn occasionally likes to tread paths outside the world of classical music. In his astutely amusing Kreisler evening, he not only performs the ‘opera boogie’ or slips into the role of a music critic, but also explains, for example, why people still go to concerts in the 21st century. Accompanying himself on the piano, he also sings about topics that have nothing to do with music at all with delicious chansons by Georg Kreisler. The Austrian composer's bitingly amusing songs form the basis for this unique evening, which will challenge the laugh muscles and brain cells of young and old alike.
