The castle park in Pöllau with its wonderful flowers from spring to autumn is perfect for all ages.
The castle park used to be a retreat for the Augustinian Canons. It was always a place for relaxation and einjoying leisure activities which continues to this day. The 40.000 m2 large park is the starting point for many hikes in the Nature Park. Almost all year round the flowers bloom and the children's playground right next to the Parkcafe ensures an afternoon of leisure for everyone. You can also find the information point Hirschbirn hirsch'n there, where you can learn more about the Hirschbirn (autumn pear). An open-air classroom in the western part of the park gives a wonderful view of the parish church in Pöllau as well as the pilgrimage church atop Pöllauberg. You also have the opportunity to learn more about roots and soil with the root dispaly box.
"SAM" stands for "Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark" and closes the mobility gap where bus and train do not run. The nearest SAM stop near the Schlosspark is HF 5943 (Pöllau/Schloss-Zwinger), other stops can be found here.
