The armory was built in the 1990s with a lot of hard work and commitment by members of the Prebuch Volunteer Fire Department. The special design was designed by Prof. Karl Hodina. Karl Hodina (1935–2017, Vienna) was an Austrian painter and musician. The adjacent Apfelschlössl, in which there is a café, and the village chapel (approx. 350 m to the northeast towards Prebuch) were also built according to his designs.
The special architectural style of the buildings is intended to trigger positive moods in people thanks to its round shape and colorfulness. The regional artist Richard Ludersdorfer worked with Prof. Karl Hodina and created the art glass work in the chapel in Prebuch, the “glass flames” above the windows of the Prebuch fire station and the art glass design in the interior of the Apple Castle (Apfelschlössl).
Accessible all year round.
