In 1999, the city of Gleisdorf announced the “Art at the City Gates” competition, in which - in preparation for the 2001 state exhibition - objects were chosen for artistic design at four city entrances - one of them was the "Sun Rings" of Gleisdorf.
This object emerged as the winning project by Karin Vatter, born Schragen, and Dieter Mandl. The work of art consists of stainless steel beams that, bundled by elliptical discs, fall onto the ground at a steep angle. The object is 3 meters high and around 1.7 meters wide.
Accessible all year round!
