On the newly designed wood sculpture path you will find great sculptures by the chainsaw carver Erich Haider-Harrer. The path leads from Nechnitz to the Gschoad summit and back again. You could also go further to the Teichalm. On the way you will find many native forest animals that were carved out of wood, but also display boards about the animals and the forest.
The wooden sculpture trail starts right at the Haider inn on the Nechnitz. Wood carver Erich Haider-Harrer designed around 45 wooden sculptures, benches and energy wells along the way.
These accompany the 1.5 kilometer long route to the Gschaid Nock summit. There is a wonderful all-round view with the Rote Wand, the Hochlantsch and the Sommeralm to the north. To the south the view goes over to the Schöckel and the peaks in the area. With the help of the large display board, the mountains can be easily assigned. If you want to go on a longer hike, you can take path no. 2 or 740 to the Teichalm.
Walking time for the wooden sculpture trail: approx. 2 hours. Distance: 3 kilometers with an altitude of 260 meters
Take advantage of the opportunity and travel by public transport.
